‘It’s hard for me to remember a fifth-rounder that this early in camp has popped as much’ – Former Vol is showing out already in the NFL
A former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman is turning heads in NFL training camp after getting selected in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman Joshua Josephs is making some serious noise in training camp.
Josephs, who played at Tennessee from 2022 to 2025, was selected by the Washington Commanders in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The former Vol is already generating a ton of hype due to his performance in Commanders training camp.
“I said it already, Josh Josephs,” said Mitchell Tischler of Monumental Sports when asked which player he’s noticed popping at Washington’s practices.
“It’s hard for me to remember a fifth-rounder that this early in camp has popped as much to me. I’m sure there are other guys, maybe Alfred Morris (in 2012) going way back or whatever, but whenever he’s on the field, he pops. Maybe there’s too much depth in front of him that he’s gonna get enough opportunities, not to mention hopefully Dorance Armstrong is going to be back in the mix in some regards. K’Lavon Chaisson and Odafe Oweh have looked really good as well. So, I don’t know how many reps he’s going to get, but I think he’s going to be a difference-maker when he’s on the football field.”
Josephs has been having a solid camp and should definitely lock down a spot on the Commanders’ 53-man roster as long he stays healthy and keeps being consistent.
