Nick Sirianni is setting the tone early for the 2026 Philadelphia Eagles, and his latest comments about the team’s new “100% alignment, 0% entitlement” mantra carried a weight that was hard to miss. The Eagles head coach addressed reporters about the philosophy driving this next chapter in Philadelphia, and one particular quote stood out as something more than just coachspeak.

“When you can get the entire team pulling in the same direction, that is a huge thing,” Sirianni said. “If you get a couple guys that are pulling against the direction, it makes an effect.”

That felt like a direct shot at A.J. Brown and anybody else who tried to steer the car off the road last season. And honestly? It should.

Sirianni is saying what needed to be said

Think about everything that went down. You had a team that won a Super Bowl, and instead of riding that wave with full commitment, there were guys pulling in the opposite direction. The cryptic social media posts. The outbursts. The comments about winning a ring but it not feeling as fulfilling. All of that noise created a distraction that Philadelphia didn’t need, and Sirianni clearly hasn’t forgotten about it.

Everybody has to be bought in. Everybody has to have winning as the main priority. You can usually tell when a guy feels that way versus when he doesn’t. And when the actions don’t match the words, it becomes obvious to teammates, coaches, and fans alike.

The mantra matters

The “100% alignment, 0% entitlement” tagline isn’t just a catchy phrase for training camp. It’s a direct response to what happened. Sirianni is drawing a line in the sand, and he needs to keep drawing it. He needs to keep saying things like this. He needs to send that message to the entire roster that Philadelphia can’t afford another situation like the one they dealt with last year.

Now, you don’t always want to air out public business in front of the media and reporters. That’s fair. But sometimes the message has to be loud enough that everybody hears it, not just the guys in the building. Sirianni is walking that line, and so far he’s walking it well.

The Eagles have too much talent on this roster to let individual agendas derail the mission. Sirianni is taking a step forward as a leader by addressing this head-on, even if he’s doing it without naming names. We all know who the comments were about. And if the rest of the locker room needed any clarity on what the standard is going to be this season, they just got it.
