What to watch for from the Panthers against the Jaguars
After playing the majority of the starters last week for a couple drives, the plan seems to be the same right now going into Friday’s game, even with a joint practice scheduled.
“The joint practice, they’re going to get a good load,” Canales said about the starters. “We’ve been working with Coach Coen and Shane Waldron, we’ve been going back and forth just making sure we have a great practice and throw some different situations. The plan is to play them all in the game too.”
The starting offense fell flat on their faces last week in Buffalo, posting three straight three-and-out drives before getting pulled from the game. The Panthers are hoping for a more successful outing this time around and have been focusing on getting better up-front to establish the run a lot more successfully.
One name to watch is veteran tight end Darren Waller. Waller is not expected to participate in the joint practice but could be out there on Friday. One name who will not play is rookie quarterback Haynes King, who continues to work through a hamstring injury he suffered in the Hall of Fame Game. That’ll mean we’ll see Kenny Pickett and Kyle Trask rotate in at quarterback after Bryce Young for the second week in a row.
