Former Tennessee Vols running back Alvin Kamara is entering what could be the final season of his NFL career.
And it’s getting started with some bad news.
Kamara, who turned 31 in July and has spent his entire NFL career with the New Orleans Saints, is expected to miss a month with a sprained MCL.
That means Kamara won’t be ready for the first few weeks of the 2026 season.
There was speculation early in the offseason that Kamara could retire. The Saints and Kamara, however, eventually agreed to rework the former Vol’s deal to remain in New Orleans.
Kamara isn’t under contract beyond the 2026 season. It feels like the Saints are ready to move on, and Kamara has made it clear that he doesn’t want to play for another team, so it seems very likely that this will be the five-time Pro Bowler’s swan song in the NFL.
