Kansas City Chiefs’ first injury report for Week 6 tilt vs. Los Angeles Chargers shows a team on the mend after the bye week
The Kansas City Chiefs released their first injury report for Week 6 vs. the Los Angeles Chargers. It shows several health improvements since the Week 5 bye.
The Kansas City Chiefs have released their first injury report ahead of Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
After having 10 players on the final injury report ahead of the Week 5 bye, Kansas City’s roster appears to be on the mend. Rashee Rice didn’t participate in practice on Wednesday, but the team removed 5 players who were hurt just two weeks ago from the injury report. For the first time since mid-August, Chiefs LT Josh Simmons took part in a limited practice session.
Here’s a quick breakdown of each team’s first Week 6 injury report. Keep in mind that clubs can add to the injury report through kickoff on Sunday. They will release game status designations on Friday, Oct. 16.

- As Coach Reid said, Rice did not participate, and Simmons participated in a limited capacity. Simmons moved gingerly in video taken during the open portion of practice (see FOX 4’s footage here).

Observations
- The Chargers are one of the NFL’s most injured teams through five weeks. They have 18 players listed on the above report due to injuries.
- Los Angeles could well be without both starting tackles again in Week 6 as Joe Alt still deals with a neck injury.
- Derwin James is another big name to watch here. He missed Week 4 against the Broncos with a hamstring injury.
