DJ Lagway top 10 quarterback in NCAA College Football 26
It's a really interesting group of quarterbacks at the top of the list. What's also fascinating about the group of quarterbacks is how condensed they all are, meaning that either EA Sports isn't willing to make major distinctions with the group, or they are all so similar going into the year and they will be making adjustments throughout the year like they do with Madden.
Lagway is going to have something that the majority of these quarterbacks don't have: a missile of an arm paired with a powerful, yet fast running ability.
There are some who can come close to matching that, as both Manning and LaNorris Sellers have a similar skill set, but in slightly different capacities. Having those tools will automatically give you an advantage over others in the same position.
On3 Sports' breakdown of Lagway's place on the list mentions how he can grow this year, which makes complete sense.
Lagway has a lot of potential as a quarterback and it seems like EA is banking on it as well. As long as he develops and stays healthy, he could really elevate Florida to new heights in 2025.
As a freshman, Lagway threw for 1,915 yards, 12 touchdowns, nine interceptions and a 59.9% completion percentage. If he cuts down on the turnovers and the offensive symmetry improves, it should be a good year.
What really separates Lagway from others is how his true freshman season went. He went 6-1 with the only loss coming against Georgia, the game which Lagway severely hurt his hamstring.
Because of that, Lagway grew exponentially in the pocket, something that is going to serve him very well as he grows throughout the 2025 season. Being paired with both Manning and Horvath, two completely different types of players, is very interesting. The real intrigue here is how these rankings look at the end of September.
