It’s been a really interesting year for Florida Gators defensive tackle Caleb Banks.

If Banks had entered the 2025 NFL Draft, he would have likely been a top-50 pick. His explosiveness in all phases in 2025 showcased an insanely talented player who was set to anchor a talented defensive line.

Unfortunately for Banks, foot injuries hindered him the entire season. He suffered the first one in fall camp and re-aggravated it in the Week 3 game against the LSU Tigers. When he returned in the Week 13 game against the Tennessee Volunteers, he looked like the same explosive player.

Caleb Banks receives good news about his injury status

One day ahead of the NFL Draft, Banks is in a much better spot than he was when we learned about his broken foot from the NFL Scouting Combine. A letter was sent to all 32 teams stating that he will be healthy in early June. That would put him line to potentially participate in mandatory minicamp.

That’s a huge element to the discussion surrounding Banks. His recurring foot injury is a tough pill for teams to swallow. It makes the evaluation that much more difficult. However, having the knowledge that he will be healthy enough to play in June is a big deal.

Before the foot injury he suffered warming up at the combine, Banks was a possible top-10 pick. This information could end up vaulting him back into the top-20. Will it? Who knows, since the NFL Draft is like the Wild West: you never know what will happen.

Banks has the talent to go much higher, but how teams will parse out the injury history will be key. Thursday night can’t come soon enough.
