With an unexpected bye week before the College Football Playoffs are set, the Ohio State Buckeyes must look at themselves in the mirror. Dropping the ball to Michigan stunned the program, but it didn't hurt their chances of winning the National Championship. While that doesn't remove the sting of losing The Game, the Buckeyes can't linger.
Quarterback Will Howard and former head coach Urban Meyer have echoed this sentiment. Howard talked about turning the page immediately after the loss, which I thought was missing the point a bit, and reflected on Ryan Day's misunderstanding of the moment. However, Meyer pointed out that this mindset is required after brooding for 24 hours.

"It's 365 days of pain, you have to live with that. It's somewhere in you but you better get it out because you have a bowl game to go to. You got to regroup right now. Give 'em 24 hours. Don't stand up in front of the team when you win, that's not hard to do. What's really hard to do is when you get punched right straight square in the mouth. You gotta pick them up and grab each other. And if they don't do that, you'll lose."
Meyer, who has always coached in a cutthroat manner, nails the leadership part of the discussion, as usual. While the Buckeyes can never forget or forgive the losses, they can't be the focal point of any discussion right now.
