Key Ohio State football transfer addition has started beef with his old team in the SEC with just one comment

Ohio State S Earl Little Jr. made a comment about different between being in Columbus and at Alabama, which surely won’t go over well with Tide fans down south.

The Ohio State Buckeyes had an aggressive winter when it came to the transfer portal — and they’re expected to have landed several difference makers. This spring has been the first look at the new additions with the Ohio State football program in Columbus and early returns have been promising.

Former Alabama and Florida State S Earl Little Jr. is a player creating plenty of buzz this spring for the Buckeyes. Little has also created some enemies at his old stomping ground with his latest comment.

Earl Little Jr. gets real about the difference between Ohio State and Alabama

Little spent his first two college seasons at Alabama playing under Nick Saban. The former Crimson Tide safety appeared in just 11 games at Alabama, but noticed a difference between Birmingham and Columbus when it comes to preparation.

“The level of competition, day in and day out,” Little said when it comes to the differences between Ohio State and Alabama. “At Alabama, we didn’t compete in the weight room how we do here [at Ohio State]. So it’s literally like everything you’re doing at Ohio State, you’re gonna compete and you have to bring your best every single day.”

Little has already lost his black stripe this spring and expects to be a key member of Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia’s defense in the fall. Ohio State is getting the 6-foot, 198-pound safety coming off a strong year at Florida State.

In 2025 with the Seminoles, Little had 76 tackles, two sacks, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles. For an Ohio State defense tasked with replacing All-American Caleb Downs in 2026, it was key to add a player with proven production.

Little and former Duke S Terry Moore will be the two safeties joining Jaylen McClain as regular contributors for Ohio State’s defense.

It’s been since 2023 for Little to have played for Alabama, and he’s clearly on the bad side of Crimson Tide fans following his comments.

Don’t sleep on Alabama and Ohio State seeing each other in the College Football Playoff next fall. If the two teams do match up, expect these comments to return to the surface.
