The Oklahoma Sooners just missed out on Titus Hawk, a four-star tight end in the 2027 recruiting class. However, this won’t be something that hurts them much, as they have the No. 1 tight end in the class.

Hawk is a 6’7, 215-pound tight end who’s athletic as all get out. Hawk, the No. 8 player in Oklahoma and the No. 18 tight end in the class, chose Notre Dame. The Sooners still maintain the No. 1 class in the country, with the No. 1 TE, and could only get better.

Not long ago, during Future Freaks Weekend, the Sooners landed the No. 1 tight end in the country in Seneca Driver. He’s a 6’6, 240-pound, and the No. 49th player in the country. It’s safe to say that new tight ends coach Jason Witten is putting in some crazy work in the recruiting trenches. And, there’s still a possibility of one more coming.

The Sooners could land one more four-star in Norman North tight end Ben Kolar.

Sooners still waiting on Ben Kolar to decide

The 2027 four-star tight end attends Norman North and just finished his junior season with 653 receiving yards and four touchdowns. He’s the No. 9 player in Oklahoma.

Kolar is a tight end everyone seems to want, as is apparent by all of the recent visits he’s taken. However, he recently visited the school in his backyard again, and it’s clear the Sooners could be a team he plays for in 2027.

Top schools in the running for 2027 TE Ben Kolar

  • Oklahoma Sooners
  • Iowa State Cyclones
  • Kansas State Wildcats
  • Auburn Tigers
  • Ole Miss Rebels

“The visit went really well,” Kolar told Rivals. “I loved the depth of Coach (Jason) Witten’s coaching and was very impressed with the room. They are definitely one of my top schools. The closeness to my home would make it super easy for my parents as well.”

The Sooners are currently projected to land Kolar with a 42% chance, according to Rivals. However, Iowa State is making a hard push for the 6’4, 230-pound tight end.
