The Oklahoma Sooners made some big-time additions to their team this offseason. They used the transfer portal to improve every part of their team that was weak. Of course, we all know about the tight end room, with the three additions there. But they also added a few wide receivers, and Trell Harris is already showing exactly why they picked him up.

With fall camp going on, it’s given us a chance to see this team up close and personal before the season starts. Now, we don’t get to see everything, but what we do see, whether it’s in person or on social media, is good so far. However, not many plays are going to beat the one we saw from Harris.

With a defender draped all over him, Harris turned and made a one-handed catch as he was falling. It’s a catch that, if made on GameDay, would end up being a top-ten play on SportsCenter. Now, that’s not the only reason they brought Harris in, but it is one of them. They brought him on because he’s one heck of a wide receiver. Harris is a downfield threat, a weapon, and another playmaker John Mateer can get the ball to.

Trell Harris is finally showing out at fall camp

Last season at Virginia, Harris showed that he could be a big-time receiver at a big-time school. He finished with just over 800 receiving yards and five touchdowns. His two years at Virginia have seen him average 14.4 yards per catch, which is very good. But his ability wasn’t what was in question. It feels like everyone knows he can be an elite receiver next to Parker Livingstone and Isaiah Sategna.

The tricky part was getting him to fall camp. Harris missed most of the spring with an injury. He didn’t really start practicing with the team until fall camp. At SEC Media Days, Brent Venables let everyone know Harris was close to participating with the team. So, he’s really just now getting started. And this is really the first we are seeing of him at camp. So far, he looks the part.
