Waukee (Iowa) tight end Evan Jacobson has a who's who list of suitors. Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Iowa State, Missouri, Stanford, Ohio State, LSU, and Penn State have all extended offers. But there's one program out in front, per Rivals experts.

On Thursday, Rivals' recruiting experts Greg Smith and Steve Wiltfong entered predictions for Jacobson to say "Gig 'Em" when it's time to choose a college.

Rivals ranks Jacobson as the No. 180 overall prospect in the 2026 class. He is also tabbed as the 9th-ranked tight end in the country and Iowa's No. 2 overall recruit.

Evan Jacobson is also interested in suiting up on the hardwood at the next level.

Earlier this month, he spoke with Wiltfong about this.

“All four schools have told me I can play both (football and basketball), but only Iowa State has guaranteed me a spot so that’s the conversations I’m going to have this week with the basketball staff at the other three,” Jacobson said.

Smith writes the Aggies are more than intrigued by the two-sport star, seemingly giving him the nod to play both football and basketball if he picks Texas A&M.

The Aggies and head coach Mike Elko already hold a verbal commitment from Bishop Montgomery (Calif.) four-star tight end Caleb Tafua. If the Aggies can pull this one off with Jacobson, it's not out of the realm of possibility Elko's group could make a run at the No. 1 overall class.

Evan Jacobson has some solid bloodlines as well.

His older brother played basketball at both Nebraska and Iowa State. He then moved over to football and played for the Seattle Seahawks and Indianapolis Colts. The elder Jacobson is currently on the New Orleans Saints roster.

Evan averaged 13.2 points and 9.7 rebounds per game as a sophomore. He was tabbed Second-Team All-Conference. Last season, he averaged over 18 points per game.

The 6-foot-7, 220 pound prospect is a red zone nightmare on the gridiron. He has a large catch radius and wins just about every jump ball opportunity thrown his way.

The current Aggies class features three five-stars in Tristian Givens, Brandon Arrington, and Bryce Perry-Wright. All are out-of-state commits, too. The top Texas commit is four-star running back KJ Edwards and Elko's staff has also gone out and snagged the No. 1 player from Ohio in Victor Singleton.

Aggie Yell analyst Jaxson Callaway recently gave his thoughts on the Evan Jacobson recruitment.

While several programs have held the edge at different points in this recruitment, the latest intel continues to indicate that Texas A&M is in pole position as the decision draws near. According to sources, a decision is still expected within the next week.Notre Dame remains a program to watch. I initially ruled them out after landing two other tight end prospects, I’m told they’ve remained in contact and continue to make him a priority. Iowa State is also firmly in the mix with Stanford rounding out the final group of contenders. Texas A&M tight ends coach Christian Ellsworth has made major headway since locking in his other targets, gaining traction in this recruitment and pushing the Aggies ahead for his favorite pass-catching prospect at the position in the class. This one has been everywhere, but I still like where Texas A&M stands during this final stretch. He’s passed his initial timeline for a commitment and could certainly do so again, but I’d have a hard time seeing this recruitment making it out of July. I have a pick in for the Aggies as we enter the final stretch, but you can’t discount the Irish and Cyclones. He’s my likely candidate to be the next addition to the class. – Jaxson Callaway, Rivals
