The Texas A&M Aggies are a lock to make the 2025 College Football Playoffs at 10-0, thanks to a miraculous 31-30 comeback victory over South Carolina on Saturday. Even if they somehow lose to the Texas Longhorns on Black Friday, they will be in.

However, where they should rank has been a hot debate over the last several weeks, and the committee can’t keep its facts straight regarding how they rank each team. The Aggies should want to contend for the one or two seed this year, and there’s a pathway that gets them there.

Which teams should Texas A&M fans be rooting for this weekend, given their Aggies’ schedule, and what do they need to happen to secure a trip to both the SEC Championship Game and strengthen their bid for a top two seed?

#22 Missouri OVER #8 Oklahoma

If the Tigers can pull off an upset victory over the Oklahoma Sooners on the road, that would be a massive win for Texas A&M’s strength of schedule, especially when in comparison to Indiana. The Aggies blew out Missouri at Missouri, and that would give A&M two quality ranked wins with Notre Dame and Missouri, both on the road. If you add in another team they play at the end of the season, that would be three, something the Hoosiers can’t boast as the two deck it out for the two-seed behind Ohio State.

#17 Texas OVER Arkansas

This one is pretty straightforward. A&M wants the Longhorns to be as highly-ranked as possible for their matchup to end the season. Any slip-ups by Texas could cost A&M a shot at a higher seed. Don’t rule Texas out of being on upset alert this week against a feisty Arkansas team. Steve Sarkisian has been battling coaching rumors all week, the Longhorns are fresh off of a demoralizing blowout at the hands of Georgia, they won’t have star linebacker Anthony Hill, and the Razorbacks average 34.1 points a game. This could sneak up on Texas if they aren’t careful.

If Texas wins, that would give the Aggies a win over a potentially top-15 Longhorns team when they square up to close the season.

#15 USC OVER #7 Oregon

If the USC Trojans can pull off this upset, it would turn Indiana’s strength of schedule on its head. The Hoosiers’ bid for the two seed revolves around having a strong win over Oregon to outweigh them not playing anybody else with a pulse in the Big Ten. Knocking Oregon out of the top ten and moving Notre Dame up a spot or two would likely give the Aggies that extra boost in their SOS to finally pull ahead of Indiana.
