The Dallas Cowboys had some surprising offensive woes at times in 2022.
There were times when it seemed to be running on all cylinders for Dak Prescott and company, but at other times, everything seemed too difficult for Dallas.
Their talent is undeniable when you consider the solid pieces on the offensive line, a top ten quarterback, CeeDee Lamb, and a duo of impressive running backs.
So, could one aspect of their offense change in order to give them a better shot at increased success?
The Cowboys could actually learn a bit from the aggressiveness presented by the Philadelphia Eagles. Nick Sirianni was the most aggressive coach in the NFL when it comes to decision-making on offense this season.
Clearly, it worked out for his squad as they represented the NFC in the Super Bowl after winning the NFC East.
According to the aggressiveness index from Football Outsiders, Sirianni led the league with a rating of 1.57.

"Sirianni was sixth in Football Outsiders' Aggressiveness Index in 2021 but climbed into the top spot this year. What stood out the most is that Sirianni went for it on 13 of 14 qualifying fourth-and-1 opportunities during the regular season, with the Eagles converting on 10 of these. (They were also 2-for-2 in the postseason.)
Sirianni also stood out by going for it on six of 10 qualifying opportunities in "no man's land" between the 34- and 39-yard-line where a head coach has to choose between a short punt, a long field goal, or a chance to convert on fourth down." – Football Outsiders
Mike McCarthy was closer to the middle of the pack when it came to aggressiveness on offense. He ranked 12th in the NFL.
For the Cowboys, it would be smart to start taking a few more chances on fourth down. Additionally, in short yardage situations, using Dak Prescott's legs more often would make a lot of sense as well.
If the NFL doesn't outlaw the QB push play that the Eagles became notable for, Dallas needs to take advantage of that with their physically imposing quarterback.
