Dallas Cowboys quarterbacks really have it rough, man.

Like Tony Romo before him, it seems like the spotlight is always the brightest for Dak Prescott. He's been one of the most polarizing quarterbacks in the league even though he's been one of the most efficient players in the league since he arrived in Dallas in 2016.

The doubts from the media never leave him, however, and they probably never will until he and the Cowboys make it to a Super Bowl. But this week, the media took things to another level by basically… making a quote up and spreading it around like crazy.

If you follow several Cowboys and/or NFL accounts on social media, you've probably seen quotes on Prescott saying that "he won't have 10 interceptions" in 2023. The only problem the guy didn't even say that!

The made-up comment took a life of its own when NFL.com quoted the Forth Worth Star-Telegram's piece with the original misquote. Naturally, it was picked up by countless social media accounts including PFF and Bleacher Report.

According to DallasCowboys.com beat writer Nick Eatman, Prescott actually said that he wouldn't have "tipped interceptions" like he did in 2023. People comfortably swapped out "tipped" for "ten" and ran with it.

Indeed, a big part of Prescott's season with the Cowboys in 2023 will hinge on improved chemistry with his pass catchers. With head coach Mike McCarthy taking over the offense, many expect that to happen thanks to a decreased amount of choice routes on gameday.

Not to mention, the Cowboys should have an improved wide receiver corps as Michael Gallup will be healthier and the unit welcomes veteran Brandin Cooks into the lineup. Last year, Noah Brown was forced into a starting role. Cooks is certainly an upgrade.

When the team reports to training camp next week, expect Prescott's chemistry with his pass catchers to be one of the main storylines to follow.
