The Dallas Cowboys are unlikely to bring back kicker Brett Maher after his dreadful woes in the playoffs against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, missing four extra points.
America's Team took a step in a new direction at the kicker position on Wednesday, but it was with someone they've dealt with before as they signed Tristan Vizcaino.
Vizcaino's first go-round with the Cowboys was in January 2020 when he inked a reserve contract. However, he was waived three months later.
After Maher's disastrous performance in Tampa Bay, the Cowboys signed Vizcaino to their practice squad but he never saw the field against the San Francisco 49ers in the second round.
Vizcaino hasn't had many opportunities to kick in the NFL but he has taken advantage of them. He's connected on 11 of his 12 field goal attempts (91.7%) in 10 career games.
Now, the former undrafted free agent will look to secure a spot with the Cowboys, again.
