Alabama Crimson Tide radio play-by-play man Eli Gold didn’t handle the loss to the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday night very well.
Texas A&M beat Alabama by connecting on a 28-yard field goal as time expired, giving the Aggies a 41-38 win.
It was Alabama’s first loss against an unranked opponent since 2007.
It was also Nick Saban’s first loss to a former assistant during his time as Alabama’s head coach (Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher was Saban’s offensive coordinator at LSU).
Here’s the call of the game-winning field goal from Gold.

Gold never said a word about the field goal being made.
Instead, he waited a few seconds and then lambasted the Texas A&M fans who stormed the field (an unranked team beating the No. 1 team in the nation that had won 19 games in a row is certainly worthy of storming the field, by the way).
This definitely wasn’t a good look for Gold. At least do the job — even if the team that pays you loses.
