The Miami Dolphins have built the sort of culture that players now want to be a part of. From free agents to top draft prospects, Miami is as appetizing of a destination as the NFL has to offer.
USC quarterback Caleb Williams is the latest player to voice his interest in playing with the Dolphins. Williams, the unquestioned No. 1 quarterback in the Class of 2024, sat down with People Magazine and expressed his fascination with Miami.
“I’d probably go to the Dolphins,” Williams said. “ I also would be able to play with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Mike Gesicki. That defense isn’t bad. That’s probably my number one spot.”
Williams’ comments should make Dolphins’ fans overjoyed. In today’s media-driven world, it’s common for players to keep their opinions to themselves, especially Heisman Trophy winners.
But for Williams to come and say that he would love to play for the Dolphins should excite head coach Mike McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier.
The Dolphins have plenty of question marks at the quarterback position, most of which involve the long-term health of Tua Tagovailoa. The problem is that Miami, who is expected to contend in the AFC East, will have to give up a hefty draft haul in order to move up and draft Williams next year if that is the direction the team wants to move in.
It’s certainly a situation to monitor for Dolphins fans. File this one away in a folder to circle back to at the end of the 2023 season.
