2025 four-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery was one of the many recruits in Neyland Stadium this past Saturday for the Tennessee Vols‘ win against the Florida Gators.

Montgomery, 6-foot-3/200 lbs from Findlay, OH (the same hometown as future Hall of Fame NFL quarterback Ben Roethlisberger), is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 90 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

The Ohio native spoke to On3 after his visit and he had plenty of great things to say about Tennessee and the atmosphere at Neyland for the Florida game.

Montgomery told On3 that the Tennessee/Florida game was “probably one of the most, if not the most electric atmosphere I’ve ever been to”.

“The game in general, the atmosphere, the environment, just honestly how much of a religion it is down there, football,” noted Montgomery. “That definitely caught my eye.”

“It’s just an amazing place,” added Montgomery. “I could definitely see myself playing there.”

The Vols couldn’t have asked for a better scenario than the way the Florida game played out. Tennessee got the win and the game remained close until the final seconds, which ensured that the atmosphere was electric until the very end.

Even after the game ended, fans remained in the stands to celebrate.

If you’re a Tennessee fan, that’s exactly what you wanted recruits to see this past weekend. And based on Montgomery’s comments, the atmosphere at Neyland definitely left an impression on recruits.
