There's a random rumor floating around on social media about the recruitment of five-star quarterback Arch Manning that's completely absurd.

The rumor is basically that a collective associated with Arkansas has offered Manning a rich NIL deal worth more than $2 million. And because of that offer, the Razorbacks are suddenly one of the frontrunners to land Manning.

I have no doubt that various collectives have offered Manning lucrative NIL deals, but there's absolutely no chance that one of the schools outside of Manning's top five or six schools will be able to land him because of one of those NIL deals.

That's just not how the Mannings roll.

The Manning family is known for being deliberate in their decision-making process. Factors like relationships, location, and the offensive system are what will drive Manning's decision -- not a NIL deal from a program that isn't among his top schools (Arch's recruitment is similar to the recruitment of his uncles, Peyton and Eli).

Arch will have plenty of NIL opportunities regardless of where he lands. The young quarterback doesn't need the money, thanks to his family's past NFL success and various business ventures.

I think Arch also knows that his potential future earnings will dwarf any NIL deals he might receive from Arkansas or any other program. And going to a school that routinely sends players to the NFL will be better for his future than taking the easy money right now.

Manning's decision will be based on football reasons and nothing more. This rumor is complete nonsense, which is true of most college football rumors.
