The Tennessee Titans once again handled the Indianapolis Colts in Week 4. It has been frustrating season so far for the Colts, and running back Nyheim Hines had thoughts on it after the loss.
Hines believes that the Titans' consistency at the quarterback position has gone a long way. The constant shift at QB for the Colts has hurt their chances against the Titans and others, according to Hines.
He makes a very fair point, though.
The Colts have endured a revolving door at QB over the past handful of seasons. Since Andrew Luck's retirement, they haven't had a true "answer" at the position.
The Titans have gotten inconsistent play from Ryan Tannehill at times, but his leadership and performances have kept them afloat at times. He has stabilized the offense for the Titans over the years, and the Colts have missed on that.
Instead, they have trotted out re-treads in hopes that they can provide enough stability for a playoff run. That has not happened.
Instead, the Titans have consistently outperformed them, and contenders in the AFC have outlasted them on offense. So far this season, the Colts have scored 20, 0, 20, and 17 points respectively.
That won't get it done in the AFC right now. It won't even get them a division title over the Titans or Jaguars.
The Colts must figure out the quarterback situation soon. Veteran Matt Ryan looks to be over the hill when it comes to putting a team in contention. The Carson Wentz experience did not work either.
Bringing in a rookie may be the only option for Indianapolis to make a positive change after this season.
For now, mark it as a win for Tannehill and the Titans.
