ESPN College GameDay host Kirk Herbstreit revealed on Sunday morning the four teams that he thinks should make the College Football Playoff.
When the rankings are revealed at 12:00 PM ET on Sunday, Herbstreit thinks the top four should be Georgia, Michigan, TCU, and Ohio State.
Herbstreit has Alabama and Tennessee as the first two teams out of the playoff.
I would agree with Herbstreit on these rankings.
TCU lost in overtime to Kansas State on Saturday, but it was their first loss of the season and they're still in a good position to make the playoff (it helps that TCU beat Kansas Stae earlier this season).
The only way this isn't the top four is if Nick Saban's desperate television tour — he appeared on at least three different segments between Fox/ESPN to tout Alabama's playoff resumé — convinces the committee to put Alabama in over TCU.
I doubt that happens — a two-loss program that didn't even win its division doesn't have a strong argument to make it over one-loss TCU or one-loss Ohio State. But it's Alabama, so it wouldn't be a total shock.
If Alabama does somehow sneak into the playoff, it would move the Tennessee Vols from a potential showdown with Clemson in the Orange Bowl to a likely matchup against Kansas State in the Sugar Bowl.
