Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman DJ Reader, a former Clemson Tigers standout, officially made an endorsement for the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner.

Reader is backing Tennesese Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker.

The former Clemson star tweeted "Hendog for Heisman" on Saturday afternoon after Tennessee's 40-13 win against LSU.

If this seems completely random, it's not.

Hooker and Reader are from the same hometown — Greensboro, NC.

And while they attended different high schools at different times (Reader went to Grimsley while Hooker went to Dudley, the same high school as former Vol Emmanuel Moseley), there's no doubt they're quite familiar with each other.

Reader, by the way, played with a pretty good quarterback at Clemson in Deshaun Watson, so he knows what an elite quarterback looks like. And he clearly sees that in Hooker.
