Does Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker have a legitimate chance to win the Heisman Trophy in 2022?

A significant amount of bettors believe that could be the case.

According to the latest data from BetMGM, Hooker has received the seventh-most amount of bets to win the Heisman Trophy this season.

3.8 percent of the tickets put down have Hooker winning the Heisman. He’s also received 1.3 percent of the total handle.

Hooker’s current Heisman odds, according to BetMGM, are +5000. His odds opened at +6600.

There are numerous players with better odds than Hooker that don’t make a lot of sense.

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is +2000, while Florida’s Anthony Richardson is also +2000.

Ewers has accomplished literally nothing so far in his college football career.

Richardson, meanwhile, passed for 529 yards, six touchdowns, and five interceptions last season. Sure, he’ll be “the guy” this year (we assume), but he doesn’t have a history of production that suggests he’s going to be standing on the Heisman stage later this year.

The bettors believe in Hooker more than Ewers, Richardson, and many others. I wouldn’t be surprised if his odds soon reflect that. If you’re looking to bet on Hooker to win the Heisman, you might want to head over to BetMGM now and lay down some cash before those odds change.
