Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin resigned as the Tennessee Vols head coach over a decade ago, but Knoxville apparently made such an impact on him that he can’t get UT off his mind these days.

Rarely does a week go by that Kiffin doesn’t tweet something about Tennessee. It’s like he’s obsessed with the program that he abandoned after just one season.

The former Vols head coach is seemingly always bringing up Tennessee in some form or fashion. Last week, he attempted to throw some shade at the Vols baseball team after their loss to Notre Dame in the Super Regional.

On Saturday, Kiffin was in Omaha at the Rebels’ College World Series matchup against Auburn. Vols legend Peyton Manning was also there, sitting close to Kiffin.

At one point, the scoreboard operator had some fun with Peyton by putting a photo of him on the scoreboard and describing him as “Eli Manning’s brother”.

Eli, of course, played football at Ole Miss.

Kiffin quickly snapped a photo of the good-natured slight and posted it to Twitter.

If that’s a photo of another famous athlete with a similar caption, Kiffin doesn’t even bother putting that tweet out there. But because it’s a former Tennessee player, Kiffin was all over it.

It’s fairly clear at this point that, for whatever reason, Tennessee is on Kiffin’s mind 24/7.

Maybe he feels bad for leaving the Vols in early 2010. Or maybe he knows he made a mistake. Whatever the case, there’s no denying that Kiffin loves him some Tennessee.
