Who should be the NBA MVP this season?

That’s been a hot topic over the last few days.

The usual suspects have been mentioned — Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, Nikola Jokic, and Stephen Curry.

And now we are starting to hear Ja Morant’s name mentioned, too.

It makes sense. Morant is averaging 24.7 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, and 6.9 assists per game. Stellar numbers for the former No. 2 overall pick.

Morant has been receiving some notable endorsements in recent weeks thanks to his play. Shaquille O’Neal, for example, said this week that Morant reminds him of a young Kobe Bryant.

Morant received another big compliment this week from Draymond Green, Curry’s Golden State Warriors teammate.

Green was discussing Morant on his podcast and he said that Ja shouldn’t be in the conversation for “Most Improved Player”, he should be in the MVP conversation.

That’s an extremely notable compliment since Green plays with Curry.

Now, to be fair to Draymond, he didn’t say that Morant should win the award over Curry. But it’s clear that Green thinks Morant is right there with Curry this season.

Morant is well on his way to being one of the biggest stars in the NBA.
