One of the best traditions in college football made its way to Nashville for the Tennessee Vols' season-opener against the Virginia Cavaliers.

The "Vol Navy" that congregates in the Tennessee River beside Neyland Stadium on game days in Knoxville is one of the most unique traditions in college football.

And despite Tennessee's football team playing on the road on Saturday, the Vol Navy still made an appearance.

The Cumberland River runs alongside Nissan Stadium — the home of the Tennessee Titans and the site of UT's season opener.

And there were plenty of boats flying Vols flag in the river on Saturday.

It's hard to imagine there's a better fan base in college football.
