The Tennessee Vols suffered the first loss of the Josh Heupel era this past Saturday against the Pittsburgh Panthers.

Tennessee left the matchup against Pitt with an unsettled quarterback situation.

Joe Milton was injured against the Panthers, which forced Virginia Tech transfer Hendon Hooker into action.

The offense appeared to move more efficiently with Hooker under center.

Does that mean Hooker will be the starter against Tennessee Tech?

Heupel wouldn’t say on Monday. So it sounds like we’re in for a quarterback surprise on Saturday.

Charlie Burris and I broke down the Vols’ loss to the Panthers, talked extensively about the quarterback situation, and discussed whether or not Heupel is actually a quarterback whisperer or if it’s just his system that allows quarterbacks to put up big numbers.
