2022 four-star offensive lineman Addison Nichols is one of the Tennessee Vols’ top recruiting targets.

Nichols, 6-foot-5/318 lbs from Norcross, GA (Greater Atlanta Christian School), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 12 player in Georgia.

On Monday, Nichols tweeted that he’ll announce his college decision on August 2 at 12:00 PM ET. He included a Vols hat in the photo that he tweeted, along with a North Carolina hat and an Ohio State hat.

So far there have been two 247Sports crystal ball predictions made for Nichols. Both predictions have the Vols landing the talented offensive lineman.

(247Sports director of recruiting Steve Wiltfong and 247Sports Tennessee insider Ryan Callahan made the predictions.)

It makes sense that UT would be a strong contender for Nichols — his mother went to Tennessee and his grandparents live in Knoxville.

However, we’ve seen strong family ties fail the Vols before. So while it appears that Tennessee has a good shot to land Nichols, we’ll have to see him put on the hat before we can call it a win for the Volunteers.
