Tennessee Vols baseball first baseman Luc Lipcius said goodbye to UT fans on Friday via an Instagram post.
"What a career it’s been," wrote Lipcius. "My time at Tennessee has been filled with plenty of highs and lows, but I can say it has been the best 6 years of my life. I want to thank all my coaches and teammates for making my time at Tennessee one to remember, all my friends and family that have supported me along the way, and most of all vol nation for being the most exciting fan base in the nation."
"I’ll never forget my time at Lindsey Nelson and can’t wait to see what the program holds for the future. I’ll always be a VFL. Big 40 out."
Lipcius has spent the last five years at Tennessee. He finished his career in Knoxville as the program's all-time home run leader with 40.
The Virginia native will hope to hear his name called in next month's MLB draft. His twin brother, Andre, was drafted in the third round of the 2019 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers.
Lipcius was undoubtedly one of the all-time greats to play at Tennessee.
