The national sports media outlet has the Tennessee/Alabama game in Knoxville on October 15 as one of its must-watch games in 2022.
These two played a heated contest in Tuscaloosa last fall, with Alabama emerging victorious. The Vols had one of the best offenses in all of college football a season ago. That should be the case again, as quarterback Hendon Hooker returns for Year 2 of the Josh Heupel era. This season, the game is in Knoxville. Tennessee has not gotten the best of Alabama since 2006, and it will obviously have its eyes on an upset come the middle of October.

The Vols have an outside shot at being 5-0 when they take on Alabama on October 15. Tennessee's biggest obstacles to a 5-0 start will be a home matchup against Florida on September 24 and a trip to Baton Rouge to take on LSU on October 8.
If UT gets to that game with a 5-0 record or even a 4-1 record, the hype will be completely insane. It would almost certainly be a College Gameday matchup.
The Vols played Alabama tough into the fourth quarter last season. If Tennessee would've had a bit more depth, that matchup last season could've gone down to the wire.
UT hasn't managed to beat the Crimson Tide since 2006. Alabama will be heavily favored once again in 2022 and the expectation is that Tennessee will lose. But the gap between these two teams is starting to slowly close. I don't think any Vols fans should be gearing up for a big post-Alabama victory celebration, but this could be the best shot Tennessee's had at a win in this rivalry in quite some time.
