The Tennessee Vols received some good news on Father’s Day.

2023 three-star running back Will Stallings Jr announced his commitment to Tennessee on Sunday afternoon.

Stallings, 6-foot/222 lbs from Las Vegas, NV (Bishop Gorman), is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 11 player in the state of Nevada. He committed to UT over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Pittsburgh, among several others.

Stallings, who is originally from California, attends the same high school in Las Vegas that current Vols wide receiver Cedric Tillman attended.

In Stallings, Tennessee is getting a physical player who could also play on the defensive side of the ball at linebacker. Stallings really feels like a hidden gem type player for the Vols. He can be the type of running back that picks up a tough two or three yards on third down to keep a drive alive.

Stallings, however, told VolQuest that he isn’t just a short-yardage back — he can make defenders miss in the open field, too. He also told VolQuest that he loves Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel in part because he’s a “family guy”.

Heupel and his staff have proven to be great talent evaluators, which is why Vols fans shouldn’t roll their eyes at Tennessee landing a three-star recruit. Stallings is absolutely a running back who can be an impact player in the SEC.
