The Tennessee Volunteers have had some thrilling moments in recent years, particularly in the postseason. Two of those former Vols in Andrew Fischer and Blake Burke left Vol fans screaming for joy with some unforgettable home runs in the NCAA Tournament in the last few years.

Now, the ex-Tennessee sluggers — who never played together in Knoxville — appear set to at last share a dugout together in the minor leagues.

Per MiLB Central’s Chase Ford, Fischer is getting promoted from High-A Wisconsin to Double-A Biloxi, where Burke is playing.

Fischer and Blake are both in the Brewers organization. Fischer was drafted in the first round of the 2025 MLB Draft by Milwaukee. He ended up quickly becoming a well-known name in the baseball community by becoming a significant contributor for Team Italy in the World Baseball Classic back in March. He helped Team Italy make it all the way to the WBC semifinals. He’s ridden that hot start to a strong full rookie season in 2026, posting a .298 average with 20 home runs and 50 RBIs for Wisconsin in High-A.

Fischer, of course, is a player that Vol fans remember very well, particularly for his energy. In the NCAA Tournament last year, Fischer had a moment that Vol fans will not soon forget. After riling up the crowd at Lindsey Nelson against Wake Forest in the regional, Wake coach Tom Walter appeared to fire an expletive and a slur at Fischer in response. Fischer responded with a two-run homer to blow the doors off the Demon Deacons on the way to winning the Knoxville regional.

Burke’s heroics during his three years in Knoxville need no reminder. His 479-foot home run helped turn the tide in Tennessee’s super regional win over Southern Miss in 2023. He knocked in the game-tying run and scored the winning run against Florida State in Omaha the following year, among countless other big moments.

So there should be plenty of eyes on Biloxi, Mississippi in the coming months, as both former Tennessee stars continue to push their way up towards an eventual — and seemingly inevitable — place on the Brewers’ MLB roster.
