A Tennessee Vols pitcher has reportedly entered the NCAA transfer portal.

The Knoxville News Sentinel's Mike Wilson reported on Monday that junior right handed pitcher Hollis Fanning has entered the transfer portal.

Fanning, a Tennessee native who has a sister that also attends UT, was a relief pitcher for the Vols this past season.

Fanning tossed 14.1 innings for Tennessee this past season, allowing just two earned runs while striking out 24 batters and allowing only three walks.

While it's unclear why Fanning is transferring, the reason is likely simple — Fanning probably wants to join a team where he's used more frequently.

Tennessee's baseball program has a lot of talent so it was inevitable that a few players would look to transfer this offseason.
