NASHVILLE — Sunday's divisional matchup between the Tennessee Titans (2-2) and Indianapolis Colts (2-2) could not be more important both teams.
With everyone in the AFC South currently sitting at an even 2-2 record, divisional games could be the deciding factor in the standings. But both the Titans and Colts are going to be missing some key players this weekend.
Here's a full injury update for the Week 5 battle between Tennessee and Indianapolis.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel ruled wide receiver Treylon Burks out for Sunday's game with a knee injury that is reportedly unrelated to his previous LCL sprain from training camp. Burks did not participate in the final two practices last week and was not seen on the practice field or in the Titans locker room this week.
Buck Reising of A to Z Sports has reported that the Titans are hoping that resting Burks will keep him from going on Injured Reserve. Because of the bye week in Week 7, Burks landing on IR at this point would mean he returns for Week 10 at the earliest.
Luckily, it doesn't sound like that will be necessary. But Burks is out on Sunday and the Titans will need to rely on Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and Chris Moore to have big game once again.
DL Teair Tart (toe) and LB Luke Gifford (hamstring) were also ruled out by Vrabel. Tart is an important piece for the Titans' defensive line, especially against the run with Jonathan Taylor returning for the Colts.
The rest of the injury news for Tennessee seems to be positive. Rookie offensive lineman Peter Skoronski is good to go and expected to start at left guard on Sunday. Nicholas Petit-Frere and Kyle Philips are both healthy, but remain questionable for game day.
Titans fans also have nothing to worry about when it comes to RB Derrick Henry and WR DeAndre Hopkins. "I feel good every day. It's all mental," said Hopkins on Friday. Expect the veteran wide out to play like his usual self.
As far as the Colts are concerned, Destin Adams of A to Z Sports Indianapolis says the Colts are preparing to play without three key starters.
The Colts will be without three key starters this week against the Titans, LB Shaquille Leonard, Edge Kwity Paye, and the biggest blow is LT Bernhard Raimann who's had an excellent start to the 2023 season. The Colts will likely start rookie Blake Freeland for the 2nd straight week after his rough debut against the Rams.

The one consolation for Colts fans is the return of Jonathan Taylor, but his role could be limited in his first game back.
