Former Vol who will face Tennessee in 2026 named among ‘under-the-radar’ transfers turning heads in fall camp
Tennessee will face several former Vols during the 2026 college football season.
A former Tennessee Vols wide receiver was named as an “under-the-radar” transfer who is turning heads during fall camp.
On3 listed Auburn wide receiver Chas Nimrod among those who have had a solid fall camp despite not generating much hype as a transfer addition.
Nimrod spent the first three seasons of his career at Tennessee before transferring to USF for the 2025 season, where he joined former Vols offensive coordinator Alex Golesh.
When Golesh left USF to take over as the head coach at Auburn, Nimrod followed.
“Not the most heralded transfer in the Tigers’ portal class, Auburn is expecting big things for Nimrod’s return to the SEC,” wrote On3’s Pete Nakos. “A former Tennessee and USF transfer, Nimrod has shown off his speed and understanding of Auburn’s offense to date in fall camp. He has 52 career catches for 781 yards. A source told On3 that Nimrod has ‘huge upside’ and confidence because he has ‘produced in this league.’”
Nimrod, a former three-star recruit, caught 29 passes for 315 yards and one touchdown during his three seasons on Rocky Top.
The Arkansas native saw a boost in production during his one season at USF, despite playing in only seven games. Nimrod caught 23 passes for 466 yards and three touchdowns last season.
Nimrod will return to Neyland Stadium on October 3 when Auburn visits for a matchup against Tennessee.
