It may have been an off the grid type of game in Salt Lake City in the final week of the NBA season between two teams out of playoff contention. But boy, did a couple of former Tennessee Vols shine brightly in the Jazz’ 147-101 win over the Grizzlies.

Jahmai Mashack filled the stat sheet for Memphis. He notched his first career triple double with 13 points, 14 assists, and 15 rebounds.

Kennedy Chandler also had a tremendous game, putting together a double double on 26 points and 10 rebounds.

It certainly might not have been the finest game of basketball, but it was one that saw a number of individual accomplishments. In addition to Mashack getting a triple double for Memphis, the Jazz had a pair of players accomplish the same feat. John Konchar (11 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) and Bez Mbeng (27 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists) became the first Jazz teammates to reach the mark in the same game in franchise history.

Mashack is getting plenty of playing time at the end of the season for the Grizzlies, who have 14 players on the injured list and only six playing in the game. Mashack played all 48 minutes.

Chandler has been on a tear himself lately since getting called up from the NBA G League last month. In 9 of 11 games, he’s reached double figure points. Over his last two games, he’s totaled 57 points and 18 assists and is 6-10 from beyond the arc.
