Josh Heupel built a strong 2026 recruiting class that fans of the Tennessee Vols should be excited about. Tennessee’s class checks in at No. 9 nationally per On3 Sports. With two five stars and 12 four stars, there is plenty of talent heading to Knoxville next year.

However, one name on that list might end up heading elsewhere. Rivals recruiting insiders Steve Wiltfong and Sam Spiegelman project four-star athlete Legend Bey to flip his commitment to Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Rivals predicts Ohio State to flip four-star Tennessee commit Legend Bey

Bey is a smaller player at 5-9, 170 pounds, but he’s a gamebreaker with the ball in his hands. He’s also been the quarterback of North Forney HS in Forney, Texas, so if he transitions to a skill position as many project him to do, he’ll have the experience of attacking the position with the knowledge and vision of a signal caller, which is obviously an asset.

He checks in as the No. 371 player, No. 9 athlete, and No. 46 player in the state of Texas for the 2026 cycle, according to On3/Rivals’ industry rankings. Despite his ranking, he holds offers from many notable programs, including Ohio State, Texas, Notre Dame, Georgia, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, and many others.

According to Wiltfong and Spiegelman, Bey visited Ohio State for their game against Penn State last weekend and quoted him as saying that Ohio State is “unmatched.”

For the time being, Tennessee has the commitment of the talented playmaker, but that could be a matter of time before Day pulls him away and deals a tough blow to Tennessee’s 2026 class.
