Kim Caldwell and the Lady Vols are facing a very important offseason. Fortunately for Caldwell, and for Tennessee fans, she earned her first big win of the offseason on Wednesday morning.

According to On3’s Talia Goodman, Liberty transfer guard Avery Mills has committed to Tennessee.
Mills, 5-foot-9 from Lynchburg, VA, was a sophomore at Liberty this past season. She averaged 15.3 points per game while shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc. Mills earned First Team All-Conference honors last season.
The Virginia native has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Mills arrived at Tennessee on Monday evening for a visit.
Landing Mills means the Lady Vols don’t have an empty roster anymore after every player from last season’s team either entered the transfer portal or exhausted their eligibility.
This is a big win for Tennessee, but the Lady Vols still have a long way to go this offseason as Caldwell rebuilds the entire roster. Landing a transfer player like Mills, however, is certainly an encouraging start.
The transfer portal is open until April 20. Players, however, only have to enter the transfer portal by April 20, they don’t have to choose a new destination by that date.
