Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Ramel Keyton appears to have a legitimate chance at sticking on the Las Vegas Raiders' 53-man roster.

Keyton, who signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent earlier this spring, has impressed enough during training camp that Las Vegas head coach Antonio Pierce recently asked wide receivers coach Edgar Bennett to give the former Vol more reps with the second team offense.

"I asked EB (Benent) the other day to start getting him some more reps with the twos, get out of that younger guy group, and see how he really competes with some of our other veteran players," said Pierce on Monday. "He's done a good job. He's made some tough catches in traffic. But he's had some drops, too, as a rookie. Just working on consistency, alignment and that strain we're looking for. These guys, they're legs are getting tired…you can see the training camp legs starting to come, you just have to fight through it."

Shortly after Pierce's comments, Keyton caught a long touchdown pass from potential starting quarterback Aidan O'Connell.

Keyton was a solid player for Tennessee so it's not a surprise that he could earn a spot on the Raiders' 53-man roster this fall. The former Vol was never the "star player" in Knoxville, but he certainly had some memorable moments (like his diving catch against Florida in 2022).

One underrated benefit of making the Raiders' 53-man roster for Keyton would be getting to spend the season as teammates with wide receiver Davante Adams, one of the top route runners in the NFL.
