The Tennessee Vols added a former Georgia Bulldog on Thursday evening, according to a report from 247Sports.

Safety Deangelo Gibbs, a former four-star safety from Loganville, GA, is transferring to Tennessee.

Gibbs was originally a member of Georgia's 2017 recruiting class. He was rated as the No. 49 overall player in the nation when he signed.

The Georgia native has had some trials and tribulations as a Bulldog. Gibbs reportedly left the program during the College Football Playoff last season to deal with a "medical issue". The issue caused him to miss spring practice, but he returned to the team during the summer.

Gibbs appeared in 7 of Georgia's 13 games last season. He has 10 total tackles in his career. Gibbs has two years of eligibility remaining.

Obviously, Gibbs has had some issues during his college career. But perhaps a change of scenery, combined with the defensive back expertise of Jeremy Pruitt, will help Gibbs get the most out of his talent.

Update:

Tennessee will reportedly first try Gibbs at wide receiver.
