Tony Vitello added another intriguing talent to his roster on Thursday afternoon.  And it's someone that at first glance might not ring a bell from fans from the Volunteer State.  But his father's name might.

Rice OF/LHP Blaine Brown, son of former Tennessee Titans running back Chris Brown, committed to the Vols on Thursday.

For those with a terrific memory, they might actually remember Brown from a few months ago.  The lefty started Rice's matchup with the Vols, allowing 2 earned runs before leaving in the first inning.  He did manage to go 1-2 with a double at the plate.

Still, Brown had a strong freshman season for the Owls. He earned first-team All-AAC and AAC all-freshman team honors this past season.  He posted a.295 batting average, .855 OPS, 10 home runs, 12 doubles, and 38 RBIs.  He also had 7 appearances on the mound.

As such, we'll see down the road how Vitello chooses to utilize him.  Brown becomes the second two-way player that Vitello has secured inside the past week, joining former Bowling Green RHP/OF DJ Newman, who committed on June 22.

Brown's father, Chris, played for the Titans from 2003-2007 after being drafted by the team in the third round of the 2003 draft.  He totaled 3024 rushing yards over his career in Nashville, with his best season coming in 2003 – 1067 rushing yards and 6 rushing scores.
