The Tennessee Vols’ streak-busting road win over the Florida Gators last weekend in Gainesville could have more benefits for the UT football program than expected.

Tennessee’s 33-11 win against Florida — UT’s first win in the Swamp since 2003 — could lead to some good recruiting news for the Volunteers.

Tennessee could be poised to steal a 2026 commit from Florida

2026 three-star offensive lineman G’Nivre Carr was in Gainesville last Saturday for the Vols’ big win over the Gators.

Carr, 6-foot-4/336 lbs from Ocala, FL, has been committed to Florida since June 1. He’s rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 50 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 75 player in the state of Florida (ESPN is a bit higher on Carr, ranking him as the No. 16 offensive guard in the nation).

According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Carr will take an official visit to Tennessee this weekend for the Vols’ game against the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Wiltfong noted that Tennessee is “definitely one to watch” for Carr.

The early signing period is set to begin on December 3, so Carr won’t have much time to make a decision following his official visit to Rocky Top.
