Former Tennessee Vols head coach Lane Kiffin is set to return to Neyland Stadium this weekend for the third time since his abrupt departure from Knoxville in early 2010.
Kiffin, who was hired as the head coach of the Ole Miss Rebels ahead of the 2020 season, previously return to Neyland in 2014 and 2016 as Alabama’s offensive coordinator.
The controversial head coach is expecting a raucous Vol crowd on Saturday night, which will undoubtedly be accompanied by the repetitive playing of Rocky Top.
To prepare for the hostile environment — one that Kiffin is quite familiar with — the Rebels are hearing plenty of Rocky Top in practice this week.

If the Vols manage to knock off Ole Miss, I sincerely hope UT head coach Josh Heupel says something about “singing Rocky Top all night long” during his post-game press conference.
That, of course, would be an ode to Kiffin’s introductory press conference at Tennessee, when he promised to sing Rocky Top all night long after beating Florida in 2009 (the Vols did not end up beating Florida in 2009).
