EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – In the fourth quarter of the New England Patriots game against the New York Giants, Demario Douglas was taken down by Cam Brown.
And the only way to describe the way Brown knocked down Douglas was he clotheslined him.
Jabrill Peppers was animated after the play, not holding back his true feelings on what happened. And after the game, he spoke with A to Z Sports about the play that injured Douglas.
"He grabbed his whole helmet. They preach all this player safety sh** and then when we have a play like that, no flag, no penalty, nothing," Peppers said. "Nothin happens to the referee, but a guy who's playing hard and delivers a clean hit, you try to fine them. But a guy grabs a guy by his whole helmet and it knocks him out of the game, no flag, no nothing."
"That's terrible. That's pitiful."
Douglas was able to stand on his own and walk over to the sidelines after the play. He later confirmed to A to Z Sports following the game that it was not a concussion.
But the hit still knocked him out for the remainder of the game.
"I mean I checked on him, make sure he was alright," Peppers said. "But i let the trainers do their job."
And Peppers didn't mince his words, providing one final thought before leaving.
"That was some bullshit," he said.
