The New York Giants have made another roster move this week. They signed linebacker Jarrad Davis to a one-year deal. Davis, a former first-round pick by the Detroit Lions, appeared in three games for N.Y. last season.

The Giants made the move official on Twitter earlier today.

The Giants signed linebacker Jarrad Davis, who was scheduled to become a free agent. Davis was signed of the Detroit Lions' practice squad on December 28. He went on to start the season finale contest against the Philadelphia Eagles, where he registered 11 total tackles (six solo) and a half-sack. The veteran linebacker also started both postseason games for the Giants and totaled seven tackles (five solo) and one quarterback hit across the two games. Originally the No. 21 overall pick by the Lions in the 2017 NFL Draft, Davis played his first four seasons in Detroit. He then signed with the New York Jets prior to the 2021 season, where he played nine games with five starts. The 28-year-old's career totals include 344 tackles (226 solo), 11 sacks, 24 quarterback hits, 20 tackles for loss, seven forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one interception and 10 pass breakups in 68 games (51 starts).

Davis provides experience at a major position of need for New York.

This move should not prevent the organization from looking to add talent at LB during free agency and the draft, though.
