Josh Allen earns unprecedented win over Lamar Jackson and it is yet another reminder of he can do at his best for the Bills
The Buffalo Bills have one of the very best players on the planet playing for the organization in quarterback Josh Allen. Despite it being the offseason, Allen picked up a huge win over Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.
The Buffalo Bills have an alien at quarterback in Josh Allen. More than once, he’s put on the Superman cape and willed his team to victory.
He passed Cam Newton for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in NFL history, and still has plenty of gas left in the tank.
Don’t be fooled, his legs aren’t his only weapon. He slices up defenses with a cannon arm and rare accuracy. He stands as the best dual-threat quarterback in NFL history, no hyperbole needed.
Charles Omenihu has high praise for Josh Allen and what he’s able to do on the field
He got some praise during a portion of “Speakeasy” in which his ability to take over football games single-handedly was discussed at length. He’s a one-man wrecking ball, and Bills Mafia is more than a little happy he’s their quarterback.
“I don’t think people, I don’t think the league has truly figured him out,” Charles Omenihu said. “When Lamar, honestly, you bring a five-man rush on him and collapse that pocket, he’s drifting backwards. Unfortunately, he might make a play that isn’t going to be the best play for the Ravens. With Josh, he going to drift backwards, run around, and he’s so hard to tackle and he’s a large human being. Hard to get down and he can make every throw. Every throw from no matter where he’s at. His arm strength is unbelievable.”
What’s more, Charles Omenihu pointed out what makes Allen better than quarterback Lamar Jackson. For Omenihu, the league may have figured out Jackson and how to slow him down, which seems impossible to do for Allen and his weapons.
Josh Allen versus Lamar Jackson – Winner: Josh Allen
“I don’t think Lamar has that big amount of arm strength like how Josh does,” Omenihu said. “I think people figured out Lamar. You come after him, you close all the lanes, you five-man rush him and you cover his guys and I think you get it done.”
Both Jackson and Allen are two of the best quarterbacks on the planet, but Allen has shown in several playoff games that he’s the better quarterback overall. That, and his regular-season dominance. It’s hard not to agree with Omenihu’s assessment.
The debate is fun, but the results are what matter most. Allen keeps delivering when it matters most, even if the team hasn’t reached the Super Bowl. Whether it’s in the regular season or under the brightest of playoff lights, Allen has proven time and time again that he can take over games in ways very few players in NFL history ever have.
If the rest of the league is still trying to “figure him out” as Omenihu suggests, that’s a terrifying thought for everyone not wearing a Bills uniform. WE have not seen All at his absolute peak yet.
