NFL circles have an idea of who the Cleveland Browns might be drafting at No. 6 overall on Thursday night

Noise is getting louder the closer we get to the 2026 NFL Draft. The Cleveland Browns could be targeting one player specifically if they don’t trade out of No. 6.

We’re inching closer and closer to the 2026 NFL Draft and we’re just about there. The closer we get to the draft, the louder the noise gets on what the Cleveland Browns are looking to accomplish in the first round.

There’s been plenty of noise around the Browns wanting to trade back from the No. 6 overall pick. General manager Andrew Berry has been no stranger to trading down, as the Browns did last year with the Jacksonville Jaguars out of the No. 2 spot.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler dropped an interesting nugget about what people around the NFL feel about where the Browns may be going at No. 6.

“[Spencer] Fano is also an offensive tackle who has been matched to the Browns in league circles late in the process. That makes a lot of sense for the Browns,” a veteran NFL personnel evaluator told Fowler.

Fano was a three-year starter at Utah, playing his freshman season on the left side, then the last two years on the right. The Utah product is a terrific athlete who posted a 4.91 40-yard dash, a 9-foot-3 broad jump, and a 32-inch vertical at the NFL Scouting Combine. A terrific run blocker at 6-foot-5, 311 pounds.

Cleveland has a need at left tackle after trading for RT Tytus Howard, but it’s notable the Browns have already come out and said they’re not against Howard playing on the right side. If Cleveland were to draft Fano, they could look to potentially play him at either tackle spot. He could play guard too.

If the Browns stick and pick No. 6 and take Fano, they’re arguably filling their biggest need. From there it would be all about finding a playmaker at wide receiver later in the first round to set themselves up for a really nice draft to help turn this thing around.
