Cleveland Browns are meeting with an intriguing 2026 NFL Draft prospect who they might be selecting in the first-round
A top-30 visit of significance for the Cleveland Browns with one of the top wide receivers in the draft.
The majority of the focus for the Cleveland Browns is on offense, where the team has to improve the most. Cleveland has been heavily focused on the offensive line in free agency so far, where they’ve made two new additions, brought back a player, and traded for a player last week.
It’ll be G Zion Johnson, C Elgton Jenkins, and OT Tytus Howard as new starters up front for the Browns in 2026. Cleveland can’t fix the entire offense through free agency, but the draft next month will certainly help.

Cleveland has a big need at wide receiver where they must improve. According to Ryan Fowler, the Browns will host former Indiana Hoosiers WR Omar Cooper Jr. for a top 30 visit ahead of the draft.
When teams bring players in for top-30 visits, they’re getting another pre-draft meeting to get to better know the player, do medical checks, as well as workouts.
The 6-foot, 204-pound wideout was Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza’s top target while with the Hoosiers and he caught 69 passes for 937 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior. Cooper steadily improved over his career with 267 receiving yards as a sophomore, then 594 yards as a junior.
If the Browns are going to land Cooper, it would have to come either at pick No. 24 in the first round, or No. 39 overall in the second round. We’re looking at a Day 1 or early Day 2 kind of player here.
“Cooper is a stocky receiver who will thrive best in the slot at the next level. He’s a sure-handed player who displays patient route running and is great after the catch, with over half of his yards in 2025 coming that way. Cooper is at his best when you get him the ball in stride, allowing him to gain a runway to take advantage of his YAC ability.
He’s a very physical player, forcing a whopping 27 missed tackles in 2025. He is a solid wide receiver overall, but he has some areas of opportunity. There isn’t a developed route tree right now with Cooper, nor is there a top gear to stack cornerbacks down the field.” — Tyler Forness, A to Z Sports
Cleveland doesn’t have much proven in the wide receiver room past Jerry Jeudy and even he took a big step back in 2025. The Browns have to add at least one starting-level wideout in the draft with how free agency has gone, and they may need to drafts total of two.
