Dallas Cowboys announce 2026 preseason schedule: Only one home game for AT&T Stadium, and it’s a reunion with a familiar face
Dallas Cowboys football is still far from us, but it’s getting closer. And now we have dates for the team’s three-game preseason, including one and only one home game.
The Dallas Cowboys learned about their 2026 regular season schedule a couple of weeks ago and now they know their preseason opponents as well.
On Wednesday, the Cowboys announced their three-game preseason schedule starting on August 15. Just like two years ago, it’s only one home game for Dallas ahead of the regular season.
Cowboys 2026 preseason schedule
The Cowboys’ preseason schedule goes like this (Central Time):
- at Seattle Seahawks: Saturday, Aug. 15, 7:00 p.m.
- at Arizona Cardinals: Saturday, Aug. 22, 9:00 p.m.
- vs New Orleans Saints: Friday, Aug. 28, 7:00 p.m.
Though they didn’t get the Week 1 NFL Kickoff showdown, the Cowboys will technically be the first team to face the Seattle Seahawks at their home following their Super Bowl win in February.
A Week 2 preseason showdown versus the Cardinals should be intriguing as the latter figures out who will be its quarterback. Jacoby Brissett is the favorite for the job. The Cowboys will be trying out a couple of quarterbacks of their own to learn who will back up Dak Prescott: Joe Milton or Sam Howell.
Finally, it’s a Kellen Moore reunion in the preseason finale as the former Cowboys offensive coordinator and now Saints head coach visits AT&T Stadium as an HC for the first time.
Fans hoping to catch some preseason action have some planning to do.
But as usual, an equally important date remains a secret: the start of training camp. The Cowboys have yet to announce a reporting date for training camp at Oxnard, California. It is currently scheduled for late July.
Will starters play in the preseason?
Obviously, it’s too early to tell but here’s what we do know.
In his first year as head coach, Brian Schottenheimer opted to sit down most starters in the preseason. That has been the norm in Dallas even before he took over as head coach, so I wouldn’t bet on any established starters to take the field.
